HERS was a collaborative room installation by artists Patricia Buck and Menucha Task. The collaboration was created in 1991 for the “Women’s Tools” show, curated by Linda Roscoe Hartigan at the Washington Womens Art Center.
The work is a space into which women and men may enter to contemplate the significance of woman’s contribution to society and life. A powerful adjunct to this work was a 50 minute audio tape with voices of women from diverse backgrounds and ages, reflecting their life experiences.
This installation was made possible by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.
